I don’t know about you but I love Mcdonald’s. I’m also pretty sure most of us didn’t end up overweight by hating fast food, This is Lose Weight, Eat Pizza after all. This recipe is SO STINKING EASY and you can make it in the same amount of time it would take to get in your car, drive down to McDonalds and order (plus it stops you from ordering half the menu)
Personally I use 1 and a half buns in this recipe, you can cut down the calories further by either not including a middle bun piece (blasphemy) or you can cut one of the sides of the bun in half to make it 1 bun into three pieces.
I also prefer to use 96/4 ground beef in this recipe. It cut’s down the calories a little further and you really can’t tell the difference vs 93/7
This big mac comes in at 462 Calories and 34g of protein – Thats 88 calories saved and 9 extra grams of protein. Alternatively you can use Mcdonald’s exact serving size for the ground beef, their patties are 1.6 oz and ours are 2.0oz – if you use their serving size you cut this recipe down to 424 calories ( saving 126 calories!)
@lowcalkristen Idk whats more awkward me or that a stain appears on my shirt halfway through. 462 calorie / 34g protein Big Mac recipe is live up on the lose weight eat pizza blog #lowcalorie #lowcalorierecipe #lowcaloriemcdonalds #lowcaloriebigmac #weightloss2023 #newyearsresolution #fyp #recipestoloseweight ♬ Spongebob Tomfoolery – Dante9k Remix – David Snell

kcalIngredients
- FOR THE SAUCE
1/2 cup light mayo
2 tbsp french dressing (I use kraft but wishbone makes a light french if you can find it!)
4 tsp sweet pickle relish
1 tbsp minced white onion
1 tsp white vinegar
pinch of salt
- FOR THE BURGER
3 sesame seed buns (Aldi sesame seed buns are pretty close to mcdonalds!)
8 oz lean ground beef (I use 93/7 but you can use 96/4 to save calories)
2 slices of cheese ( I use velveeta)
4 tbsp white onion
1 cup shredded lettuce
4 pickle slices
Salt
Directions
- Mac Sauce
- Combine all ingredients for the Mac Sauce into a bowl and stir until combined, put in the fridge for a few hours and stir before using. This will yield about 3/4th of a cup
- For the burger
- Split the meat into 4 equal parts and form into burger patties – each burger should be 2 oz, Salt thoroughly.
- Cook in a skillet on medium high heat using your spatula to “smash” the burger flat. Each side should take 2-3 minutes cook depending on your stovetop. Smash the burgers again after flipping
- Your going to Assemble the burger: Bun, 1/2 tbsp Mac Sauce, 1 tbsp Onions, 1/4th cup Lettuce, Burger, 1 Cheese slice, Bun, 1/2 tbsp Mac Sauce, 1 tbsp Onions, 1/4th cup Lettuce, Burger, Top bun
Notes
- To get this lower calorie you can skip the middle bun or cut it in half
- I use around 1oz more meat per serving than Mcdonalds does -to cut the calories down further and be more “true to size” for a Big Mac you can use 1.6 oz per burger instead of 2oz
- The Big Mac sauce can be used right away, I like to let it sit so the flavors have more time to combine
- As written the big mac sauce is 28 calories per serving with a serving size of 1 tbsp.
